          Laylat Al-Bara’ah: Night of Salvation

Prophet Mohammed (saw) said that Allah (swt) takes decisions on the night of 15th Sha’ban in terms of livelihood, life, death and welfare of people.

After Laylat Al-Qadr is the night of 15th Sha’ban; Laylat Al-Bara’ah, the best overnight. According to Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir (as) and Imam Ja’far As-Sadiq (as) the Lord has promised to fulfill every legitimate desire put forward to him this night.

Laylat Al-Bara’ah is a night when the special blessings given to Muslims. This night should be spent in total submission to Allah (swt) and one should refrain from activities deemed unacceptable by Allah (swt).

You should try to be awake as long as possible on this night. If you have better opportunities, you should be up all night to spend the night in prayer and worship. If someone can not manage so much, you can select a part of the night of worship, preferably the second half of the night.

Making Ghusl with the idea to clear the sins and that it would be your last Ghusl.
Staying up all night to perform prayers.
Repentance (Du’aa At-Tawbah or Tasbih of Istighfar)
Recite Surah al-Yaseen
Recite Ziyarah of Imam Al Hussain (as)
Recite Al-du’aa Kumayl (ra)
Recite Al-du’aa Nudbah
Recite du’aa of Imam Al-Asr (as)
Make Tasbih: SubhanAllah (100 times)
Make Tasbih: Alhamdulillah (100 times)
Make Tasbih: Allah hu Akbar (100 times)
Make Tasbih: La ilaaha Illalah (100 times)

This year (2010), Laylat Al Bara’ah will be InshAllah on Tuesday 27th of July in Sweden.

Detailed programme for the childrens summer activities organised by the Jamaat together with Madressah-e-Zainabiya:

Monday 28th June, 10.30 – 16.00: Outdoors activities including a picnic.   Wednesday 30th June,10.30 – 16.00: Trip to Gunnes Gård in Upplands Väsby. Children are requested to bring packed lunch.   Friday 2nd July: Programme shall start with Salaatul Juma and finish at 18.00 and will include different activities and a surprise.   The cost for the children who have enrolled their names will be 60 kr per child for all the 3 days. The Sufro for 22^nd Rajab will InshaAllah be held on Saturday 3^rd July. The programme for ladies shall start at 16:00 hrs and will continue with gents and ladies programme at 17:00 hrs. The Sufro fund is now open and momineen are requested to donate generously, preferably by depositing the amount in the jamaats postgiro account.

The managing committee is pleased to announce that we shall be having Mawlana Sheikh Tanveer Hussein of Qum, Iran with us for the next 3 months. Mawlana shall InshaAllah arrive on Saturday 3^rd July and will be with us until September. In order to meet the expenses this will incurr, we request and recommend every household to pay a minimum of 150 kr every month for the next 3 months. The managing committee looks forward to the co-operation of all momineen in this matter.

The Holy Month of Rajab

Rajab is one of the four months declared sacred by Allah in the Holy Qur’an.

Special prayers and Aa’maal that can be prayed and carried out on any day or daily for this month reached us on the authority of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), Imam Ali (A.S.), Imam Ali Al-Zaynul A’abideen (A.S.), Imam Ja’far as Sadiq (A.S.) and Imam Saahibuz Zamaan (A.S.), are given below:

1. The month of Rajab, in its superabundant favors and benefits, reverence and sanctity, is next to none. It is linked to Almighty Allah as Sha’aban to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and Ramadan to his Ummah.

2. Whoso observes fast (even one day) during the month of Rajab gets Allah’s pleasure.

3. Ask forgiveness and turn repentant to Allah as much as you can because mercy drops from the heaven like a gentle rain in the month of Rajab (also known as “As’abb”- pouring out, full of love and kindness).

4. Allah shall forgive and have mercy on him who recites:
‘Astaghfirulaahallad’ee Laa Ilaaha Ilaa Huwa Wah’dahoo La Shareeka Lahoo Wa Atoobu Ilayh (I ask forgiveness of Allah, who is “There is no God save He, and no other; has no partner”; and I turn repentant to Him)’ at least 100 times (400 times will accrue more rewards), and recites “Laa Ilaaha Illallaah” 1000 times, during the month of Rajab, and gives alms in the name of Allah at the completion.

5. Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas at least 100 times (1000 or 10000 times will accrue more rewards) in the month of Rajab.

Merits of Fasting In Rajab:

Rajab marks the beginning of the spiritual season of every believer ending with the end of the fasting month of Ramadan with the Eid Al-Fitr. These three months are unmatched in their importance.

Praise be to the Almighty and thanks to Him for granting us yet another opportunity to cleanse ourselves of our sins and oversights.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) has said:”Rajab is a great month of Allah, unmatched by any other month in the respect and significance (accorded to it); war with the infidels during this month is prohibited; Verily, Rajab is Allah’s month, Sha’aban my month and Ramadan the month of my Ummah; whosoever fasts a day in the month of Rajab will be granted the great reward of Ridwan (an angel in heaven); the wrath of Allah shall be distanced and a door of the Hell shall be closed.”

Fasting is one of the most recommended acts during this spiritual season. It becomes Wajib during the month of Ramadan, but is highly recommended during the months of Rajab and Sha’baan. As will be noted from the Hadith above and others to follow, fasting, be it for only one day during these months, is rewarded with untold bounties.

Salamun Alaikum,

As mentioned previously, the Jamaat together with Madressah-e-Zainabiya will be holding Summer activities for children aged between 4 to 16 years. The dates of the activites are the following: 28th of June, 30th of June and the 2nd of July.   The activities will include an excursion, barbeque, competitions, games etc. Lunch and snacks will be provided except for Wednesday the 30th of June, where we kindly ask the parents to supply each child with a packed lunch.
